I am a curator, writer, producer and editor.

I began my career working in programming and production for festivals and cinemas in the UK in 2013. After 8+ years working in UK film exhibition, I am now freelance and focusing on writing and curation, alongside script development and film production.

My bylines include writing for The Guardian, Sight & Sound, MUBI Notebook, Elephant Art, Art Monthly, The Observer, BBC Culture, The Quietus, Calvert Journal, Little White Lies, IndieWire and Spike Art Magazine. I specialise in writing about film, visual art, archives and cultural history, through the lenses of class, activism, gender and queerness. I have chaired many Q&As and panel discussions, as well as appearing as an interviewee on podcasts and on film, and scripting/voicing film essays. My writing has been shortlisted for the Michael O’Pray Prize and the Observer Award for Arts Journalism.

I am co-founder of feminist film collective Invisible Women, through which I have curated screenings and events for organisations such as the EYE Filmuseum, BFI Southbank, Flatpack, Cinema Rediscovered, London Short Film Festival, Balkan Can Kino, Glasgow Short Film Festival, Glasgow Film Festival, Nottingham Contemporary and the Edinburgh Art Festival. We have developed collaborative programmes with partners including T A P E, A Kind of Seeing, CinemaAttic, Glasgow Film and Femspectives, and delivered education workshops for Into Film and the University of Edinburgh.

As a curator, I have particular expertise in documentary, short film, artists’ moving image/experimental film and working with archive/screen heritage. Past curatorial projects include delivering feminist film clubs and a queer cinema strand for Tyneside Cinema, serving as a senior programme for Alchemy Film & Art and developing guest programmes for Aesthetica Short Film Festival. I have also served as film programme advisor for Aesthetica Short Film Festival, BFI London Film Festival and Sheffield DocFest.

I am also a team member of SİNEMA TRANSTOPIA in Berlin, primarily overseeing editorial for Cinema of Commoning, a project celebrating alternative cinema content around the world. For the Cinema of Commoning, I co-commission, edit and write essays, features and interviews. In 2024, I also co-produced and presented a podcast mini-series, Foyer Conversations connected to the project.

I script read and assess applications for production companies and funders, including BFI Network, BBC Film, Film London, Short Circuit Scotland, BAFTA Rocliffe and Doc Society. I am alsoo a freelance script editor working directly with writers and producers to develop shorts and features. I am actively looking for short film projects to develop as a co-producer.

Originally from Bradford in West Yorkshire, I currently divide my time between the UK and Berlin.
